RockWeb has been used in two new potash shafts in Eastern Canada. Construction of the shafts required sinking through a hygroscopic salt mineral called carnallite which disintegrates in contact with moisture, and thus concrete could not be poured against it. |
Because it has no solvents at all, RockWeb was the logical choice for a sealant to be placed between the salt body and the poured concrete ground support. |
The work was completed in-cycle with lilttle setup time and no major interruptions to the sinking process using the RW4 Spray Rig which was purpose-built for the application. |
